What is Tixel? ⮕

TIXEL treatment is ideal for those seeking smoother, more radiant and revitalised looking skin, but who are worried about downtime.

The treatment is relatively painless (an anaesthetic is not normally required) and there are three unique applications.

Tixel treatment uses pure heat energy delivered via a small titanium head for a very short period of time, 4 to 18 mS (thousandths of a second). It is similar in effectiveness to fractional CO2 lasers but significantly more comfortable and with less downtime. As the plate size is so small treatment can be exactly targeted, for example concentrating on the sensitive areas around the eyes and mouth.

Application 1 (heat contact time 12 mS or more)

This is the most popular treatment giving the most effective results for skin tightening and scar treatment. The skin develops a light crusting that can take a week or so to clear. However after a couple of days you can cover any crusting with makeup. The treatment yields results comparable to a deep chemical peel or CO2 laser resurfacing.

Application 2 (A gentler option, contact time 8mS to 10mS)

This application requires more sessions than application 1 to achieve the same results but is better suited to those who are unable to take time off to recover.

Application 3 (contact time 4mS to 6mS)

This treatment may be right for you if you have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma. It makes the skin more porous for about six hours which assists in the penetration of topical treatments such as hydroquinone, improving the treatment of skin pigmentations.
